The standout for me? Two glorious cask pumps pouring some of the best cask ales I’ve tasted in ages. A rare treat, especially in Italy.
A quick heads-up on the vibe: grab a staff member near the bar to get seated. Menus are digital—scan the QR code at your table—and all service happens tableside. Things can get a bit slow when it’s busy, so settle in and enjoy the pace. When it’s time to settle up, just head to the bar to pay.
Journey Tip: This is a great starting point for your beer journey. During the week, they open at 6 PM, but on weekends, they’re up and running earlier in the afternoon. Double-check the times on Google before you head over!

Touli Craft Beer might not pop up easily online (no website, no fuss), but don’t let that fool you—it’s a hidden gem worth uncovering on any Genoa beer adventure. Just a breezy 10-minute stroll toward the port bay, and you’ll get a bonus dose of city exploration before the first sip.

Tucked away underground in a cozy old cellar, Touli pours from six taps and one cask pump. When we visited, the entire lineup was proudly Italian—local brews with serious character. They serve food too, so you won’t go hungry while you sip.
We showed up just after opening (5 PM, a bit earlier than most spots), and it was delightfully chill—like the calm before the beer storm. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns into a lively hangout as the evening rolls on.
Journey Tip: Thanks to its earlier opening time and the option to grab food, this could be a perfect spot to start your beer tour, depending on the day of the week and how much time you have.

Wow—what a knockout of a bar this is. Public House Brewery (PHB) might just be the most character-packed venue on the whole beer trail. It’s got that elusive “if you know, you know” vibe—easy to miss unless you’re in the know, but absolutely worth seeking out.
The beer selection? Wildly impressive. From tangy sours to bold IPAs, crisp pale

The beer selection? Wildly impressive. From tangy sours to bold IPAs, crisp pale ales, and even a smoked helles (yes, really), the rotating menu keeps things fresh—they switch it up every two days. Plus, two fridges packed with cans from local breweries make it a treasure trove for beer nerds. And soon, they’re opening a dedicated bottle shop called Hopstore, which is bound to be another must-visit.
Manager Nabil was a total legend—warm, welcoming, and generous with some delicious tapas alongside our first round. There’s also a full kitchen menu that looked and smelled amazing. If you only had time for one stop on this journey, PHB would be our top pick—hands down.
Journey Tip: A good place to bunker down for a few hours, soak up the vibes and have some food.

Kamun Lab was one of the real highlights of our Genoa beer journey. Tucked underground in the city’s old town, it’s housed in a historic building protected by Belle Arti, which gives the whole place a kind of quiet grandeur—like you’re drinking in a space that’s seen centuries of stories.
The vibe inside is spot-on: warm lighting, stylish

The vibe inside is spot-on: warm lighting, stylish decor, and a playlist that somehow always hits the mood just right. They brew their own beers and also rotate through some of the best Italian craft labels I’ve come across. The selection was adventurous—smoked ales, tart sours, even a gluten-free option—and everything felt carefully chosen.
We paired our beers with a platter of cheeses and cold cuts, which was perfect, though the full kitchen menu looked seriously tempting (next time, I’m going for the tartare). The staff were brilliant—friendly, passionate, and happy to talk through the beer list without any fuss.
We ended up staying longer than planned, perched outside with a glass of wine and a bowl of popcorn, just soaking it all in. If you’re into craft beer—or just love places with soul—Kamun Lab is an absolute must.
Journey Tip: A great stop to finish, but also start - the beauty of this journey easy any of the spots can be mixed up and I'm sure you'll get a great experience.
